I did do some minor enhancements to the site last night. All of the changes happened in the 2 right sidebars.
First, everything except for my twitter badge is now being fed via RSS instead of JAVA. This has helped decrease the load time of the site. I’m going to be looking into a way to format the RSS feed from twitter so that I can get rid of that as well. Unfortunately, the only thing that I really can’t streamline is my Google AdSense ads. They will have to remain the way they are.
I know from my wireless connection on my laptop that the site now loads in about 1/2 the time it did yesterday. It’s a shame when the theme I’m using is pretty streamlined to begin with, and then I bog it down with tons of JAVA applets and feeds.
Hopefully this site will load up in no time soon.
