What A Nap!

So Jess and I got out of work at the same time today, which was 5pm. We had no clue what to have for dinner, so I drove from work to the grocery store to see what looked good. I was in the mood for a nice tuna steak, cooked nice and rare on the grill. However, the only tuna steaks they had were frozen solid. If I tried to thaw the tuna in the microwave, it would destroy the integrity of tuna. On the flip side, if I put them on the grill, even on a low temperature, you can forget about any chance of a rare steak, which is the only way tuna should be served. So, tuna was off the preverbal table.

Looking at the fresh fish case, I called Jess and inquired about some salmon or haddock. She said that seafood did not sound good at all because her stomach was off. After some discussion, she finally just asked for some french fries for dinner and told me I was on my own. So, I went and grabbed a bag of green grapes, a bag of fries, and ordered myself some sweet & sour chicken from Asian Cafe.

I arrived home starving, threw on an episode of Stargate SG-1, and devoured my sweet & sour. Jess in the meantime, cooked up her french fries.

After Stargate, I felt exhausted. I nestled my back into the corner of the couch and decided to close my eyes. My wife came over, pillow in hand, laid on me, and snuggled in as well. This was at about 7pm.

We just woke up. Somehow along the way, we ended getting up off the couch and made it to bed. To ne honest, this was news to me when I woke up. In fact, the only reason I woke up at all was because I was hot and thirsty. As I was getting a drink and feeding the feline heard, Jess comes stumbling out of the bedroom.

So, we’re both now sitting on the couch watching Deadliest Catch. I just hope I can fall back asleep. The work day beckons in but a short 6 1/2 hours.
