I have been alone all week. This past Sunday, my wife and son left for a week long stay at her mother’s house to help with her recent knee replacement surgery. That has left me living the bachelor life all week. How has it worked out? It sucked. I have been sick as a dog since Tuesday evening. I was down all night after work on Tuesday, and the entire day on Wednesday. I felt a little better on Thursday, so ater my morning dentist appointment, I drove down to Easton (where they are) and saw my wife and son for an afternoon. We went and did a little shopping, had a bite or two to eat, and then I headed home around 8:45pm. However, when I woke up this morning, I was almost back to square one. I was extremely sick to my stomach and this were coming out of places that shall not be named. I finally decided around 9:45am to call from work for the day. I really didn’t want to, but my permanent post in the bathroom all afternoon proved me right. Sounds like a fun week, right?
Well, it has had one right spot. Since I have been confined to the couch most of the week (the bathroom today) I have gotten a chance to play quite a bit of ‘Duke Nukem Forever’. So I supposed the week wasn’t a total loss afterall.
One nice thing did happen today. My wife actually called me via FaceTime to see how I was doing. I had texted her that I was really sick again and seeing her face was quite nice.
As for tonight, I am planning on taking it easy once again. Maybe some more Duke, maybe some work on the computer, and some cleaning around the house. Although to be honest, all I want to do right now is take a nap….
