Here Comes Sandy

Here comes our first hurricane. That’s right, a hurricane. We’re looking at a few inches of rain, sustained winds of 35-40 miles per hour, with gusts up to 80 miles per hour. This looks like it’s going to be bad. How bad? The local utility companies have been calling their customers tell them to prepare for power outages for at least a week.

Remember Tropical Storm Irene last year? This would be the storm last year that ravaged The Valley and flooded most of it. A year later, we’re still rebuilding. You think Irene was a bitch? Sandy is a much bigger bitch.

Yeah, she’s a bitch all right. Here, we’re prepared for a few days without power. We have have flashlights, batteries, gas lamps, 2 days of prepared meals, ice, and lots of non-perishable goods. Not only that, but all of our laundry is done.

Will we need to rely on all of this? The logical me hopes not. However, deep down, the disaster loving Trevor hopes it’s the worst storm we have ever seen!
