Discs vs Digital

So with ‘American Horror Story Asylum’ over I’ve been looking for a new TV series to watch. Wanting something in the sci-fi genre, I was hard pressed to find anything worth while. So I started looking towards GE past and seeing if there any old sci-fi series that I may have overlooked. Then I remember a sci-fi series from he early 90s that I always wanted to watch but never did — Babylon 5.

My next step obviously was to head to Netflix and see if it was available. Alas, it was not. So I go to my second service of choice, Amazon Instant Streaming. As an Amazon Prime member we get lots of TV shows and movies streamed free. Again, I hit a roadblock. It was available, but for purchase only; $1.99 per episode or $39.99 for the entire first season. Now call me cheap, but $39.99 + bandwidth costs for a TV series from 1993 seems like a bit much to me. So then I looked at the cost of the DVDs from Amazon. It was $28.86 for the first season. A fair price but still a bit high for me. So, to the interwebs I go!

I go over to Froogle.com. I know I know, it’s now Google.com/shopping, but it’ll alway bee Froogle.com to me. Anyway, a quick searched yielded an awesome. From the Warner Bros. online shop, I scored the entire first season, on DVD, for $12.49 + free shipping. Oh yeah, who’s the man now?

I can’t wait until the DVDs arrive next week!
