Faster And Faster

So I went online today in the hopes that my internet provider had added some new plans for 2015. We currently pay for 15mbs up and 1mbs down. We’re reaching the limit of our download speed with all 3 of us streaming all day. And don’t get me started on my upload speed. The main reason I got a LTE hotspot from AT&T was for the faster upload speed. Considering I upload a lot of podcasts and YouTube videos, upload speed is very important to me. I did get a letter at the beginning of January saying that they are going to double our upload speed from 1mbs to 2mbs sometime in 2015, but no firm date was given. So, I went on their site in the vein attempt to see if they had increased their plans. Sadly, they had not. But they did do something else. They lowered some of their pricing tiers. For us to upgrade from 15mbs to 25mbs used to be $10 a month. Now, it’s just $5! So I called up my cable company and had them upgrade our plan. The guy said all he had to do was reboot my modem and we would have the upgraded speed. The cable modem rebooted in about 5 minutes and we are now surfing along at a nice 25mbs. Sure, I couldn’t do anything with the up stream, but at least this should solve our streaming bottleneck.

Here’s a speed test I did with our new connection.
