Day 2 of Lockdown

Yesterday was the 2 day in a row I tried to limit my expose to the public. I stayed home all day on Thursday, and the only time I left the house today was to pick-up dinner since we usually eat out on Friday’s. Probably not the best move, but we’re trying to keep some sense of normalcy here.

However, yesterday was not a good day. Over 265,000 people in the US are infected, and in my county alone, 98% of all infections are in a town 5 miles away from us. In fact, they have instituted an 8pm-6am curfew in that town and have called upon the Nation Guard to come in and help enforce not only the curfew but social distancing. We were also informed that it is now recommended that everyone wear masks when they go out and interact with the public. Here is a lot of breaking new items from a local paper today outlining the changes going on.

As you can image, things are starting to get very real here. I spent Thursday mostly in bed sedated with Klonopin to quell panic attacks. Yesterday I was a bit more productive by installing a new kitchen faucet and a 5 state reverse osmosis water filtration system.

Both of these item I’ve had in the house now for over a week. In fact, I have one more fixture sitting in our dining room ready to install. After that, I have resigned myself to just work on what I can without going to Lowe’s or Home Depot and exposing myself. Considering there were over 1,000 deaths in the US yesterday, I don’t wNt to end up a statistic. So once the new chandler is install, I’m going to work on cleaning wall and woodwork, as well as removing all carpet from the house.

I’ve even talked to other cemeteries and their works are staying home with the exception of digging graves. That quelled a lot of my anxiety about not being down my cemetery working everyday. This is all new for everyone and we’re just going to have to make this all up as we go along.
