Of Domains and Napping

This has been a nice weekend so far. I spent Friday night shopping with Jess for stuff for the house. Yesterday afternoon was spent in the yard putting edging in one of Jess’s flower beds. The, Loki and I met her at Target when she got off shift. We then all went down to Country Junction and picked up some new porch furniture. We then ordered some pizza for dinner last night. We were going to do some other stuff, but Jess fell asleep. My sister and Gavin showed up to check out the newest kittens added to our petting zoo. After that, we just spent a quiet night in bed reading. Very sedate.

Today I slept in on purpose. I was supposed to go to a cookout at JP’s house, but I’ve been trying to get a hold of him to find out what time it is, but I cannot. So, I guess I’m not going there. Jess should be home in about 15 minutes, and I’m going to try and talk her into going to go see ‘Hot Fuzz’ tonight. It’s made by the same guys who made ‘Shaun of The Dead’, which is hands down, one of our all time favorite movies. I know, we should go see ‘Spiderman 3‘ like everyone else in the country, but we will. Maybe a nice quiet Wednesday afternoon. Although to be honest, I was thinking about taking her to see ‘Spiderman 3’ and ‘Ghost Rider’ at the drive-in tonight, but then I looked at the weather for tonight. We’re in a frost advisory. I’ve gone to the drive-in only once before when it was that cold to see ‘Mortal Kombat’ for the 2nd time, and I swore I would never go when it was that cold again. I am keeping my promise.

In a weird twist of irony I almost like my twev1701.net domain name to the same bastards that made me lose my twev1701.com domain a few years ago. I have been getting emails from them telling me that they could not charge my credit card. Well, for a little back story, I used to host my account with these people until them pretty much told me that I have too much traffic and they were cancelling my account. I then switched over to Globat for hosting, and being the awesome host that they are, they bought out my existing contract. But, I still had to deal with my old hosts. I called them up, and told them that I wanted to cancel. They told me that since they do not give refunds and I was already pre-paid for year, all I needed to do was remove my credit card from my account and I would not be charged. This was June of 2006. Fast forward to January 2007 when my account is up for renewal and I am getting 1 email everyday telling me my credit card could not be charged. I finally got sick of this after 3 weeks and emailed them telling them to stop emailing me and that I cancelled my account. They then told me I had to fill out a little form, and they would. I filled out said form, and the emails stopped. That is, until April 2007. I was not getting emails about my domain name twev1701.net. I knew it was going to expire on 5/6, and had every intention of paying for it. I went to log in on Friday to renew it, and I could not. When I logged in, I saw that my domain was up. I clicked on ‘renew’ , and it old me there was not balance due. Bastards. So, I ended up calling them last night and got one of their famous no-english speaking technicians that told me his name was Ken. Yeah, sure you’re a Ken. Anyway, he took my check card info over the phone and told me he had no clue why my account was showing no balance when one was due. Go figure, I want to give them money and they’re telling me no. So, long story short, twev1701.net has now been renewed or another year and is safe until May 2008 when they will tall me once again that they don’t want my money. Although I think I will be transferring that domain to my regular registrar by then.
